Quali Q Open Letter & 7 Reflections for Better Responses
Hello Curious Learner,
If you receive emails from Quali Q, you can entirely skip this blog post. If you do not, keep reading AND don’t miss your copy of “7 Reflections for Better Responses.”
The past seven days have been stressful for all of us. I decided to break my rule of only one monthly e-mail to say hello, reach out, and share something you can do while working from home. The novel COVID-19 was definitely not in my list of content for March 2020 but here we are. We are ALL going through this crisis, and trying to make the best of unpredictable changes is a must (in addition to social distancing and increased hand washing).
The times we are living call for adaptability, flexibility and creativity. Many people are entering the online space for teaching, learning and/or collecting research data for the first time. If you are in this boat, I see you. I am here to tell you that, even though you might struggle in the beginning, I believe you will learn what you need and come out of this adverse season wiser and stronger than when it all started (wherever you are in the globe).
Talk soon,
Maira
Last but not least, this week Quali Q is launching a tool that our team designed to help you assess and improve your qualitative interview skills. It is something you can do while working from home and anticipating your next research steps.
I have been working hard to become a better mentor to students and those starting their qualitative research journey. In this process, I learned and taught a few strategies to becoming a better interviewer. With your learning in mind, I created the “7 Reflections for Better Responses,” an insightful reflection tool (don’t judged its title!) that will help you take actionable steps towards becoming a better interviewer. I hope this brand new Quali Q resource helps you expand your research skills.
Take good care!
